A review of E3 2006
-Presented by SuperBanjo
For those of you unfamiliar with the term, E3 stands for Electronic Entertainment Expo, and that's exactly what it is. Basically, it's when all of the the big electronic companies get together and show off what they have in store for us later during the year. This year at E3 was especially good for Nintendo fans, because a lot of awesome things were announced. Read on to find out.
The Wii
The first major announcement was the naming of the Gamecube's successor. We've known it as code name Revolution, but in a short 3D trailer, the official name was announced. The Nintendo Wii.

A lot of new info was announced, but I think that
the coolest one was definitely the announcement of a speaker on the WiiMote.
(as you can see above)
The reason why this is so cool is because it adds a new sense of sound depth
and realism. For example, let's say that you're playing Zelda: Twilight
Princess, and you go to string your bow back. As you let go of the arrow,
you'll hear the twang of the bow on the WiiMote speaker, and hear the
arrow thunk into it's target on the TV speakers. So, it's kinda' of
like a mini surround sound.
Anyways, pretty much everything you need to know about Wii is on the official site. If you'd like to read up on all the the stats and specs, check it out.

Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Personally, I think that this was my favorite revelation. The trailer for the next Smash Bros. game was truly amazing. Definitely my favorite part of this year's E3. The trailer for this game is extremely well done, so I strongly recommend viewing it at the official site.
My friends over at The Hylia have an awesome photo gallery for Smash Bros. Brawl, so if you want to see more screen shots, head on over to their Copper Mine Photo Gallery.
That's about all I have for now. Much more to come
soon!
