Rushden Cornerflag 4-1 (Home) 03/06/05

Fisher are aiming to make Woods end a fortress for visiting teams, but will have to play a lot better despite the flattering score line. The team was changed from the unlucky defeat to Ristee towers out in the sticks last week, Cam lined up along side bash and Scrivs at the back. Rooney returned in goals, Scotty d, docs and jack occupied the middle of the park in the absence of old bash who had flu. Steve sludden and new recruit tom occupied left and right wing back respectively. Danny bhoy and gibby partnered up front. Fisher started the game against the ropes as Rushden looked for an early goal with some good play but not really getting any clear cut chances. However it was fisher that found the net inside 20 mins when we won a corner on the right, a superb delivery by Dockland found the big man Scrivs at the back post as he rose to beat the moany boaldy basta and power a header home to make it 1-0. Fisher finally had the kick up the ass they needed but the middle three couldn’t get to grips with the game in the first half, they where missing leadership in old bash. Fisher made it 2-0, 15 mins from the half time whistle, Danny bhoy was put superbly through on goal and despite not catching the ball all that cleanly he managed to send the keeper the wrong way and convert the chance GOOOOOAAAAAAAAALLLLLL  Danny in the words of that Spanish commentator the other night. Fisher soon made it 3-0 when good play form the back three sent Steve down the right and his cut back found docs and shockingly enough other than balloon the ball over from inside the box, his finish was neat as it found the roof of the net.

Half time 3-0

Fisher came back out for the second half after a bolloking from Adie the tash, and it showed as there was a little more swagger in our play you could sense we where gonna score again as Scott Davanagh and co in midfield finally started winning headers and spraying the ball about the park. It was soon 4-0 as tom made a clever run, on the right wing even though he was meant to be left wing back, but we will forgive him since he scored, he found himself receiving a delightful ball over the top and ran on and placed it in the roof of the net from a tight angle 4-0. Rushden went down to 10 men as clever clogs boaldy man was heard saying and I quote “I will shove that whistle up your bum ref”, I mean I thought I was bad but I am Fernando ricksen compared to him. Rushden pulled a goal back right at the deaf , we where sloppy defending a corner and allowed a Rushden player to net a free ball.

Ah well not to worry we just need to cut out the sloppiness lads. Good start to the season.
