Fisher Athletic 4-0 Danite 29/10/05

King fisher athletic looked to continue their excellent form of six wins out of six, with the comments from last time we played Danite filtering through that “ we where rubbish and lucky”, yep that’s right we where luck to win 6 - 1. Adie managed to keep the same team but with one exception, Sir bash was recalled in the centre of midfield in place of the awol docs, who is still away chasing puff the magic dragon in Vietnam somewhere. Rooney passed a late fitness test after recovering in time from a stubbed toe nail to take his place between the sticks. The impressive back three was unchanged with Scrivs, scotty mc and Eddie, cam and Steve were on the right and left flanks respectively, sir bash joined turner and Scott Davanagh in the engine room and the gibster partnered jack the lad up front.

The game started with fisher playing from right to left in front of the home crowd and almost instantly should have scored when gibby squandered a good chance inside 5 mins. Dainite where more than up for it winning everything in midfield but not making any good use of there possession. Fisher made them pay 20 minutes into the half as they finally started to come out there shells, Eddie played a lovely lofted ball over the right back for me to chase I took a touch and tried to deliver it but it cannoned of the defender and out for a corner. Gibby swung in a sweet pin point cross David beckham would have been proud off and found yep you guessed it the big man Scrivs, he made no mistake of thundering home a header that was just as sweet as the cross 1-0. The goal sprung fisher into life and they could have had another goal from another corner but this time Scrivs got a little to much on it and sent it over the cross bar. They weren’t to be denied and fisher got there second goal from another set piece, Rooney took a quick goal kick down the left channel and as I jumped to flick it on the clumsy defender barged me in the back for which a free kick was given mid way inside the dainite half, Eddie stepped up and expertly delivered a stunning cross that found its way to Scott Davanagh who was totally un marked, his first touch brought the ball down lovely for him to hammer it high into the top corner and make it 2 goals to nil. After scotty mcblain picked up a stupid booking, Adie decided to hook him for bash just before half time. Fisher went in at the interval on a high but still got the usual ticking off for a sloppy start from the tash and his side kick the tartan army stalker.

Second half

The second half started pretty much the same as the first half with dainite flying out the traps but teams have to make better use of the little possession they get here and try and brake down this well organised team( NOT LIKELY). Jack the lad could have had a goal against the run of play, a looped ball over the defender caused jack to explode in to a frighten burst of pace that roasted the defender but the keeper stuck to his task well to deny jack. Steve sludden was the next to have a pop with a long range effort which to be honest was just as bad as his throws. Fisher got the third goal from a little help from the ref, the ball broke down the left for gibby and he whipped a ball in that found jack, he tried to lay it back out to gibby but it deflected of the defenders hand, to be honest it was harsh but the penalty was given, gibby made no mistake of sending the keeper the wrong way to make it 3-0. Then the ref gave another penalty 2 minutes later this time to dainite and again it was harsh as Eddie won the ball cleanly in the air but more shockingly the ref decided to send Scrivs off for absolutely sod all, justice was served when the dainite player skied the penalty high and wide of the net. Fisher where looking to shut up shop but fisher should have got another penalty, Gibby sent cam racing clear of the defence and I rounded the keeper but found another defender waiting so decided to unselfishly square it for oags when as he was about to tap it in was shoved in the back but the ref waved play on. Then the moment of the game from the man of the game, The ball was lofted into the fisher back three but was pegged back out up the field, the dainite keeper was playing like a sweeper and could only manage to clear the ball as far as gibby, he then sent the ball way over the keepers head and the ball bounced in front of the goal as if it was gonna hit the bar but instead nestled just under the bar in the onion bag to make it 4-0 at full time. After the hard work done and another win in the bag it was back to the fisher for sausage, chips and chicken.

To bring him off.

Preview of Dainte (Home) 29/10/05

After Kingfisher athletics impressive win over great doddington last week, the Corby  side are taking division three by the scruff of the neck. It remains to be seen if any body can beat this outfit who are looking more and more like the real deal every week. With training so impressive over the last few weeks I really don’t see anybody beating fisher. They also have the luxury of club owner Milne Abramaovich pumping money in if Adie feels the need to strengthen his squad in the next transfer window. So to this weeks game against dainite sports who currently lie 3 points outside the relegation zone and the opposition are in need of a victory, but In my honest opinion there wont be much chance at the fortress that is Woods end. Fisher will be keen to wrap the game up as early as possible so we can expect an exciting game with plenty of goals. The dainite manager was quoted in the paper after the last time these two sides met saying “ they (fisher) were lucky to beat us 6-1” ( no word of a lie that’s what they told someone from dansholme). With both bashers returning to the fold after missing the doddington trip you cant see past a 7th straight win in the league for fisher who also love playing on there home pitch. With orchard park stumbling again last week with a 0-0 draw, they face Kettering park rovers who are in the dog fight with dainite which gives you the feeling that Kettering rovers, knowing there relegation rivals are playing the league leaders,  will be looking to get some breathing space with a win over their sheep shagging land rivals.

Adie Kelly's selection worries have lessened this week with the return of both Bashers from their trial at White Heart Lane which ended in the pair returning to Corby without being able to agree  personal terms with the London based outfit. The only concern this week is the loss of Kieran Doherty who has been sent toHong Kong to seek some spiritual guidence by the club doctor and gaffer Adie. When www.fisherathletic.tk caught up with Kieran he said "I bet they have some mental dope over there, its gonna be greeeeat!"
