After the roasting we got of the league for ALLEGEDLY having offending language and bad mouthed match reports on the site its up to me to keep this, shall we say, politically correct although there’s surely something illegal about the way they threatened us with 3 points but its all water under the bridge. The fisher where back in action against the high flying corner flag in Rushden, it was clearly going to be a pulsating tie and not for the faint hearted. The gaffer was definitely not faint hearted in his team selection with Steve sudden and cam removed for tom and oages, Milne replaced Rooney between the sticks and had scrivs, bash and Scott Mc in front of him. Old bash returned to the centre of midfield and had Scott davanagh and docs either side of him and gibby and jack remained up front. The game kicked off in front of a capacity crowd and almost immediately fisher where caught knapping as the unmarked right winger was aloud to fire in a low cross which was deflected back out to the unmarked midfielder, he then nailed a shot to milne’s right hand corner to make it 1-0 to Rushden. Almost certainly Rushden looked set to make it 2-0 after the same player bolted down the right to fire a shot that was expertly saved by Milne. Fisher started to play a bit after wakening up in flamboyant mood and nearly had an equaliser through Scott when he shot just wide of the goal 20 minutes into the half. It all then kicked off in the middle of the park after a bad challenge from docs and the ref could control the situation as bodies flew in from everywhere and resulted in 4 bookings. Fisher went close again after jack shot wide from a good chance and at half time it finished 1-0. It was clear something wasn’t working and Steve replaced docs 10 minutes after the restart, Steve shifted out wide and oages went back into the centre and it proved to be a master stroke as oages fired fisher level after 20 minutes, tom laid the ball into oages path and he managed to cut inside the defender and unleashed a powerful shot that stung the keepers hands and dropped into the empty net to make it 1-1. It became Cleary obvious who was going to win this and 5 minutes later cam replaced tom down the left. Fisher where caught on the brake and this produced one of the saves of the season well double save as Rushden where denied by the excellent Milne. Rushden won a free kick just outside the box which deflected of the wall and broke left to cam he stroked the ball to Scott and then laid off to jack who found himself 1 on 1 the keeper rushed out and the ball spun up in the air and fell behind the keeper leaving jack with a tap in and sending the gibster into euphoria 2-1 to the fisher. 6 minutes later fisher had the ball in the net again as Scott davanagh crunched into a tackle( that almost took the guys knee off) this sent the ball behind the lacklustre defence again and gibby was away like a scolded cat, he headed out right and caught the keeper off his line for a clinical lob over the keeper and into the empty net to make it 3-1. Fisher kept it tight till the end when the ref stupidly awarded a penalty for a suspicious hand ball. The penalty was despatched and the game finished 3-2 and the ball is firmly back in the fisher court with 2 games in hand and a point behind. Now it was back to the fisher for sausage, chicken and chips Roll on good time HAZZAR.
