Danesholme (home,cup game) 24/09/05

The team’s excellent run continued in front of the evening telegraph cameras and a full house, with fans taking notice of the excellent form and lowered ticket prices. After 3 successful wins in the league it was a good all fashioned cup tie. Cam the bam returned from holiday in Tenerife (tried to keep it from the press, but some cunt sold the pics behind my back) and was on the bench along side Danny bhoy. Roon dogg, Scrivs, scotty mcblain and ed lined up in a back three with Steve and Oakes looking after the flanks. sir Bash , docs and scotty d in the middle of the park and on-song gibby and jack up front. It was a sunshine filled day as the gods smiled down on woods end, fisher pegged dansholme back straight away when Eddie won a header in the air and it dropped kindly for sir bash who sent a lovely ball over the top of the defence, jack exploded into pace to beat the defender to the ball and lobbed the ball cheekily over the on rushing keeper to make it 1-0 fisher fc after only 5 minutes on the clock. There was barley enough time to talk about the goal when gibby added a superb second goal 2 minutes later, again a lovely ball over the top sent gibby away and he didn’t even wait to get into the box as he hammered past a helpless keeper from 20 yards to make it 2-0. Steve made his intentions clear when the ball dropped onto his vicious right footed volley just inside the box and instead of making the keeper work it was quite obvious he wouldn’t of hit a cows arse with a spade with the kind of effort as the ball flew out for a throw in over the other side of the pitch. Gibby should have had fisher 3-0 up when eddies first time pinpoint cross found him completely unmarked but to head straight at the keeper. Dockland also had a chance to get on the score sheet when he was through 1 on 1 but the keeper stood his ground and seen his shot out for a corner. Towards the end of the half fisher were cruising but took the foot of the pedal a little bit as dansholme pulled one back before the whistle when Eddie and scotty fell a sleep and allowed a dansholme player to sneak in to rifle the ball home.

Fisher came back for the second half far to over confident and again fell a sleep to allow the dansholme striker to beat the offside trap and sneak the ball in Rooney’s right hand post to make it 2-2. The game then turned into a midfield battle between the two with scotty, bash and docs beginning to dominate again. Fisher won a corner midway through and Oakes sent a lovely cross from the left and scotty Davanagh rose to power home fisher’s third and regain the lead and send the fisher fans into raptures 3-2. Danny bhoy replaced jack to try and add some flair to the game and get a fourth. The fourth goal came from another corner on the same side and it was the big man Scrivs who was found completely unmarked and drilled the ball home at the back post between 2 defenders. Adie then looked to shut up shop son and replace Oakes with cam down the left. Danny bhoy should have a goal right at the death to make it a more comfortable 5, cam the bam teed him up lovely on the left hand side of the box but Danny’s shoot beat the keeper but also the right hand post. The game finished 4-2 to the fisher and send us through to the quarter finals of the cup, to more games lads and it’s Wembley( or hampden for the Scots) for us. With the hard work done it was back to the fisher for sausage and chips, ale consumption and general pee taking.
