FACTIONS & PLACES OF INTEREST
The XGA
The main political power of the kingdom lies in the Xtoli Guard Army, or XGA for short. It's a monarchy of sorts run by the just and good Lord Kul. Situated in the epicenter of the land's main village, Kul and his fellow XGA soldiers protect the common citizens from harm. Though Kul had led his armies through some terrible times in the past, everyone now enjoys unprecendented peace and prosperity. Today, the XGA are little more than a glorified police force. In a master stroke to keep the people happy (and occupied) the XGA runs an annual hunt for the people to take place in. The idea is that hunters have thirty days to bring back the most impressive trophy. Kul personally decides the winner and much celebration and fanfare takes place afterwards, not to mention the great honor that the winner receives.
Lady Doctors
There are little in the land more influencial than the guild of Lady Doctors. From a very young age, girls who possess exceptional intellect are skirted away to the far reaches of the world where they can begin learning how to mix potions from the master mistresses. There are two schools for this training- one headed by each mistress. The schools are very easy to spot as they appear to be gigantic towers that jut out from the earth. The Lady Doctors have long since stopped accepting new members though, so now the mistresses have returned to their own methods of potion mixing, creating extremely potent liquids the world has never seen before.
Black Marketeers
A small section of the populace does deal in less-than-honest activities however. The Black Marketeers, holdovers from the Great War, now are a limited power. Although their numbers are small, their business is actually booming with the advent of the annual hunting contest. It seems that some people want an "extra edge" to be the one who brings back a rather large and dangerous foe, cheating be damned. If you stumble upon one of their well-hidden shops, you're in business. If you stumble upon a member at night in the middle of a swamp, you're dead.

Shops & Wares
This is where you can buy weapons, armor, potions, and other things. To buy something, double-click on the
shopkeep and open up the PURCHASING screen to the left side. Items for sale will be listed, along with the
cost of each item. Single click on an item. A new screen will open up on the right-hand side showing you the
specifics of the item you've selected and its picture. If your hunter can't use it him/herself, a message in RED
will appear below its description. If you want to buy it, double-click on the item. Make sure you have enough
space in your backpack first!
NOTE: Some stores close up at nightfall!
The Forge
In the Xtoli HQ lives a Master Blacksmith. He supplies the XGA with all of their superior-quality weapons
and armor and is very respected. If you bring him an animal part or material, he will be able to make a
superb item for you with it. This is a very involved process though, so he will charge a fee. The higher
the cost, the better the item. If your hunter can't use that particular item, he will warn you with a RED
message at the bottom of the text screen to the right side. But, you can still have him make the item and
bring it back to the tavern for someone else to use.
NOTE: Some materials are extremely rare and can make ultra-powerful items!
Your Own House
It is rare. It is cool. It is a house contract and if you find it it can help your cause in a big way. As you travel
the world, you will see many little white signs with a picture of a house on them. These are land claims, or
spots that can have a house built on them. If you see a good spot where you want your house, stand on top
of the land claim and use the house contract to build your very own house! To be fair, it actually will always
belong to the one who builds it first, but all of your brothers and sisters can use the facilities. Owning your
house gives you many beneficial privileges:
a) You can SAVE and LOAD your game here as well as at the tavern.
b) Your health restores itself the fastest when in your own house, and walking into it cures poison.
c) By having your house far from the tavern, you can use Warp and Home crosses to instantly travel from
one side of the world to the other.
Your house is easy to spot. It's the one with the blue roof!
