using MSN Messenger 7.0.0205
If you chose to keep using the MSN
Messenger 7.0.0205 BETA we strongly
recommend that you:
1) Block all the contacts you
don't trust for 100%
2) In MSN Messenger 7.0
, go to Tools > Options > Privacy
and make sure " Only people on my Allow
List can see my status and send me messages
" is ticked. All others should
be in the top of your Block List

User's Reviews About Msn 7.0:
MSN 7.0 BETA Version
By Elliooo
A lot of you may already have this, but I
thought I'd post something new, since the site
desperately needs it.
There's a new version? I hear you ask. Yes there
is, and its jammed pack full of useless,
annoying time-wasting features, just what I
always wanted. One of the most amazing things in
this version is what they call, ‘Winks'. ‘Winks'
are animations that play over your conversation
window.
While you are enjoying you conversation with
someone, you might think “Oooh a wink would
really spice things up” and you can now play
one! These crappy animations make noises too!
Just what I always wanted. Some of these winks
will cover your conversation while they are
displayed, stopping you from saying anything.
Covering your display isn't the worst of it
either, oh no, it gets much better than that.
These ‘Winks' often cause your MSN 7.0
to crash! That's probably where they got the
BETA idea from.
There are a fair few different winks, and they
all look as though they were drawn by different
people. They don't go together, each one is a
different style of animation to the last.
But there's more than just ‘Winks' to entertain
you in MSN 7.0 there's also,
yep you guessed it, ‘Nudges!'
Hoorah for ‘nudges!' These things go beyond
annoyance. The general idea is, that when
someone isn't talking, you can nudge them to get
their arse into gear. A nudge plays an extremely
annoying sound affect, and shakes the
conversation window. I would get a pic, but It's
need to be animated to show the shaking. These
great things will make the convo window pop up
in front of what ever else you doing! Very
annoying if your typing or doing something else
important (ie: playing a game) Luckily ‘nudges'
and ‘winks' can both be disabled so you don't
have to put up with them, but who on earth would
delete such great things???
Now you can finally draw and write by hand in
MSN messenger! With the
addition on the handwriting tab at the bottom of
the conversation window!
Now you can write your insults in extremely
untidy scrawl, just what you always wanted. With
three brush thicknesses and 16 different colours
to choose from the possibilities are endless.
You can also draw nice pretty pictures, or play
pictionary! All these new features are great
additions and very useful for people with no
lives!
But along, with the horrible, does come some
good. The ability to customise your conversation
windows really makes a difference. Colours and
backgrounds really make a difference to the
window.
Also, your personal display picture is now
bigger! So instead of trying to look at your
tiny little picture, you have the full pic like
your friends one!
Your display pic is now rests at the top of your
contact list too, so wherever you turn you can
look at your amazing display pic!
And now when people sign in, there display pic
is added along side their name, not sure what
the use is, but makes it look nicer .
And now when you sign in, you can sign in as a
status. So you can sign in ‘Offline' and check
that no unwanted contacts are online, before
showing yourself fully.
MSN Today makes its triumphant return in this
version, now more annoying than ever. When you
first sign in, it will also pop up, now looking
‘cool' it takes a while to load, and slows down
your entire computer, stopping you from using
MSN for a few extra seconds. Luckily this can
also be turned off.
All in all the new features are great fun to
annoy people with, but the novelty wears off
extremely quickly. You will soon be longing for
the original ‘Windows Messenger'
By CommanderViper
Sounds like just another edition of the same
thing to me...the "nudges" came from Yahoo
Messenger's *BUZZ* button, the winks are Yahoo's
talking avatar things, and the handwriting
thing...well I think that came from MS
Netmeeting.

I'll stick to MSN 6.2

One thing to note... the pictures in that... MSN
client is begining to look more and more like
Trillian each time... I'll just run through the
list of 'new' features for MSN 7
that elliooo states...
The display of your icon up the top next to your
name? Trillian.
Ability to sign in as a certain status? ie
'appear offline?' yawn... already in Trillian...
Showing full size icons? Trillian... well... do
I even need to say it? Already there... and the
ability to set the icons to whatever size you
want takes it even futher...
The little pop up that appears in the bottom
right of your screen when someone logs on? Well
thats getting that users pic added to it.
Trillian? Had that for months...
Customising convo windows? Trillian has
thousands of skins... each completely
customisable with the backgrounds of your choice
and has done for as long as I've used it. Which
is around 2.5 years now. Think Trillian got
there first as well...
Nudges?
Trillian has had that as an optional plugin
for about a year...
Winks?
MSN can keep those lol, they look annoying LOL
I'd say MS was copying a certain rival client

So, if i understand correctly, MSN is regressing
down to trillian.
